An 11-year-old juvenile suffered serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a road near Commerce and Ann.
As per the initial information, the auto-pedestrian accident took place at about 2:40 p.m. The preliminary investigation showed that the child was crossing the road outside of a marked crosswalk when the driver of a white pickup truck hit her.
On arrival, emergency crews rushed the girl to the hospital for treatment of her injuries. She is listed in critical condition, but is expected to survive. The driver of the truck stayed at the scene and cooperated with the officers. Speed and impairment are not believed to be involved in the collision.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
