A vehicle hit and injured a 50-year-old woman near W Market Street and Clark Street (Salinas, CA)

On Monday morning, a 50-year-old woman received injuries after being struck by a vehicle near W Market Street.

As per the initial information, the auto-pedestrian accident took place near W Market Street and Clark Street. The early reports revealed that the woman jumped into traffic without letting cars time to stop. A car managed to veer and avoid hitting the pedestrian. But another vehicle driving 40 miles per hour ended up hitting the woman.

On arrival, medics transported the woman to a local hospital and she is expected to survive. The 61-year-old driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. The driver did not display any signs of impairment. No other details are available.

The crash remains under investigation.
