A vehicle hit and critically injured one person in Northwest Austin (Austin, TX)

On Saturday night, one person was left in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in Northwest Austin.

The incident took place in the 7600 block of San Felipe Boulevard just north of Highway 183 at McNeil Drive. At just before 9:00p.m., Austin-Travis County EMS actively responded to the crash scene where a vehicle hit one person. On arrival, medics began performing life-saving measures. At 9:14p.m., an update was sent out that the victim had been rushed to St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center with critical, life-threatening injuries.

It is unknown what resulted in the collision, but local residents say that the street where the crash happened is significantly dark at night. Authorities ask the public to anticipate extended delays and should avoid the affected area if possible.

An investigation is ongoing.
