On Sunday, a 59-year-old Olympia driver and two others suffered injuries in a vehicle accident on State Route 3.
The incident happened at about 11:30 a.m. near Gorst in Kitsap County. Seemingly, the Olympia man was going south on State Route 3 when a chair fell off a small, gray passenger car and landed on the road. The Olympia man changed direction in order to avoid hitting the chair. However, his vehicle went into the opposite lanes and banged into an oncoming vehicle.
Afterwards, rescuers airlifted the driver of the oncoming vehicle, a 60-year-old Belfair woman to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Furthermore, rescuers also shifted her passenger, a 63-year-old Belfair man to Tacoma General Hospital.
Simultaneously, responders also transported the Olympia man to the same hospital. Later, officers shut down State Route 3 for 3-1/2 hours.
The crash is under review.
