On Saturday, a pedestrian lost their life in a hit-and-run accident after being struck by a light-colored van in Gardena.
According to police reports, the fatal incident took place at around 9:50 p.m. near the intersection of Western Avenue and 132nd Street in Gardena. The driver of the van fled the scene after hitting the pedestrian.
On arrival, emergency crews declared the pedestrian deceased. As of now, officials did not provide any further information regarding the crash. The identity of the deceased remains undisclosed at this time.
The authorities will continue to investigate the cause that led to the hit-and-run crash.
