A two-vehicle crash hospitalized a 7-year-old boy and 2 others in Glendale (Glendale, AZ)

On Wednesday morning, a 7-year-old child and his mother suffered major injuries while another driver received moderate injuries after a two-vehicle crash in Glendale.

The incident took place at about 7:30 a.m. near the intersection of 57th Drive and Grand Avenue. As per the preliminary reports, a woman was driving a four-door sedan with her son riding along when she ran a stoplight and collided with a red Sedan. On arrival, officers found the child in critical condition and they quickly began life-saving efforts before the arrival of emergency personnel.

Officials then rushed him and his mother to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The driver of the red Sedan was conscious and was talking with the officers before being taken to the hospital, police reported. The identities of the injured victims have not been released at this time.

The crash remains under active review.
