On Sunday morning, injuries were reported following a traffic accident on I-40 in Hermitage.
As per the initial information, the two-vehicle crash took place at Mile Marker 221 at about 5 a.m. The early reports showed that one vehicle flipped over in the grass next to the interstate. On arrival, firefighters had to put out the other vehicle, which was burning in the left shoulder.
Officials confirmed that the incident led to injuries; however, it is unknown how many victims in total were involved in the collision. Authorities partly closed the lanes on Interstate 40 but the lanes have since reopened. No other details are available.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
