A two-vehicle collision killed 3 people on Highway 138 (Clayton County, GA)

On Sunday, three people lost their lives, including a pregnant mother and her unborn child, in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 138.

Clayton County Police quickly responded to the crash scene in the area of Highway 138 and Scotts Road at about 1:31 a.m. Before the call, officers discovered that Clayton County Fire and Emergency Services also responded to the intersection of Highway 138 and West Fayetteville Road in reference to a person down call.

On arrival, emergency crews found a man unconscious in an F-150, and they knocked on the window in order to wake him. The man woke up in a confused state and sped off down Highway 138, officers stated.

Police then received a call about a crash with injuries on Highway 138 at Scotts Road involving the same vehicle a mile away. The driver of the F-150 was declared dead on the scene. There was a child, a pregnant female, a male driver, and a dog in the second vehicle.

Medics transported all of the people in the other vehicle to a local hospital. The unborn child and mother and another child, all succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. The driver of the second vehicle is in serious condition, police mentioned.

The incident remains under active review.
