A two-vehicle collision involving a Gilmer ISD school bus led to minor injuries (Upshur County, TX)

On Wednesday, minor injuries were reported after a two-vehicle accident in Gilmer.

As per the initial information, a van collided with a Gilmer ISD school bus while students were being dropped off at about 3:45 p.m. The preliminary investigation showed that Gilmer ISD school bus (bus no. 35) was eastbound on SH-154, around three miles east of the city of Gilmer in Upshur County.

When the bus pulled over, a driver of a Mercedes box van heading eastbound on SH-154 did not notice the bus stopped and hit it from behind. The driver of the box van reportedly remained unharmed. Some of the students received cuts and bruises and four students were provided medical aid at the scene and released with minor injuries. No other details are immediately available.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
