On Tuesday, a 68-year-old Zeeland woman suffered serious injuries after a two-vehicle accident near Grandville.
The incident took place at about 4 p.m. at the intersection of Baldwin Street and Baldwin Woods Drive in Georgetown Township. The preliminary investigation showed that a UPS delivery truck attempted to turn left onto Baldwin Woods Drive from eastbound Baldwin Street. However, it went into the way of a westbound car, resulting in the crash.
On arrival, paramedics rushed the driver of the car, a 68-year-old woman from Zeeland, to the hospital with critical injuries. At this time, it is unknown if she was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. The driver of the UPS truck, a 31-year-old man from Kentwood remained uninjured. Portions of Baldwin Street were shut down for several hours as crews worked at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
