On Monday morning, one person suffered injuries after a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 8 near Dogwood Road.
The officials got the news of the crash a little before 3:00 a.m. that took place on westbound Interstate 8 near Dogwood Road off-ramp. Officers reported that both vehicles involved in the accident went into the center median and one person was ejected as a result of the crash.
One victim was flown to Desert Regional Hospital in Palm Springs via REACH Air Ambulance. CHP shut down the Interstate westbound lanes to allow the Air Ambulance to airlift the victim. The cause that led up to the accident remains unknown at this time.
An investigation is ongoing.
