On Thursday morning, injuries were reported following a traffic accident in Ferndale.
As per the initial information, officers actively responded to the 1900 block of Main Street, under a BNSF overpass, at around 6:30am after getting reports of a two-vehicle crash. The preliminary investigation showed that a pickup truck and a passenger vehicle with heavy front-end damage were involved in the collision.
Officials said that no one needed to be transported to the hospital. Reports further stated that two vehicles were heading westbound in the 1900 block of Main Street, one in the primary through lane and the other in a right-turn only lane. Just then, the vehicle in the right-turn only lane crashed into the vehicle in the primary lane while trying to merge.
An eyewitness informed the officers that the vehicle in the primary lane ended up with significant front-end damage after slamming into a vertical wall under the BNSF Railway overpass. No charges or citations were issued. Main Street was shut down as crews worked at the scene. No other details are available.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
