On Thursday, two people lost their lives following a two-vehicle collision along US 2, involving a commercial vehicle.
As per the initial information, the fatal car crash took place on Highway 2. The early reports indicated that an SUV was heading westbound on Highway 2 when it went over the center line and crashed head-on into a double dump truck.
The two people in the SUV died of their injuries at the scene. The driver of the dump truck was transported to the hospital with non-critical injuries. The highway was shut down at Fern Bluff in Sultan and Old Owen for several hours as crews worked at the scene. No other details are available.
The incident remains under investigation.
