A two-vehicle accident injured 2 people on Interstate 5 (Sacramento, CA)

On Tuesday morning, two people suffered injuries following a traffic collision on Interstate 5.

As per the initial information, the two-vehicle accident took place at about 7:30 a.m. on I-5 at the Interstate 80 interchange. The preliminary investigation showed that a BMW going in the wrong direction crashed head-on into a big rig as a result of which the big rig swerved into the center divider. On the other hand, the wrong-way vehicle drifted onto the right-hand shoulder of the interstate. Both vehicles got engulfed into flames due to the impact.

Officers took the BMW driver into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence. Crews from College Oak towing quickly responded to the scene to clear the wreckage. No other information has been released.
