A truck hit and killed 47-year-old Clarence Williams, JR (Broussard, LA)

On Monday, 47-year-old Clarence Williams, JR lost his life in an auto-pedestrian crash near the intersection of US Hwy 90 and KOL Drive.

Broussard Police Officers actively responded to the crash scene at about 5:10 a.m. On arrival, officers located a vehicle and a pedestrian. Authorities identified the victim as 47-year-old Clarence Williams, JR of Broussard and declared him deceased.

The driver of the pickup heading east on US Hwy 90 struck Williams. Authorities mentioned that the lighting conditions outside were dark due to the morning time and the driver of the truck failed to see the pedestrian due to dark clothing. The driver was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident.

Officials did not confirm any citations to the involved driver. No alcohol involvement suspected for the driver of the pickup. Toxicology results are pending for Williams.

An investigation is continuing.
