A traffic collision in Silver Lake leaves thousands of customers without power (Los Angeles, CA)

On Monday morning, thousands of customers were left without electricity after a traffic collision in Silver Lake.

As per the initial information, the single-vehicle accident took place at 4:45 a.m. at Sunset Boulevard and Micheltorena Street. The early reports showed that a truck careened into a power pole, triggering a fire. Emergency crews quickly responded to the scene and put out the blaze.

It is unknown if the crash caused any injuries. There was no one inside the truck when authorities arrived making them believe that the driver ran away from the scene. As of 7 a.m., 2,922 L.A. Department of Water and Power customers were still without power. It was expected that the electricity will be restored by 8:30 a.m. No other details are available.

The incident remains under active review.
