A traffic accident kills one person and injures three others in Northwest Austin (Austin, TX)

On early Sunday morning, one person died and three others injured following a traffic crash that closed down the northbound lanes of Research Boulevard at the Capital of Texas Highway exit.

At just after 3:00 a.m., emergency crews actively responded to the scene in the 9400 block of Research Boulevard, at the Texas 360 intersection. On arrival, Austin-Travis County EMS rushed four patients from the scene: one with critical, life threatening injuries, two with serious, potentially life-threatening injuries, and one with non-life-threatening injuries.

EMS transported three victims to St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center and one victim to Dell Seton Medical Center. One of the victims passed away at the hospital later. Austin Police announced at 4:37 a.m. that all northbound lanes of Research Boulevard were blocked at the Capital of Texas Highway exit while officers investigated the crash. The lanes have since reopened again for traffic.
