A tractor-trailer rolled over on I-15 and caused traffic delays in the area (Las Vegas, NV)

On Saturday, a rollover crash involving a tractor-trailer closed lanes of I-15.

The tractor-trailer crash happened just before 9:30 a.m. The preliminary investigation indicated that the vehicle flipped over and spilled garbage and 40 gallons of diesel on the roadway. The Regional Transportation Commission reported that the I-15 remained shut down at the 215 beltways and Tropical Parkway as of 5 p.m.

As of noon on Saturday, officials said that it will take at least another two hours to clean up the roads, and that traffic was backed up to Lamb Boulevard. At about 2:30, authorities stated that I-15 northbound lanes are still blocked at Lamb Boulevard. Authorities asked the motorists to avoid Interstate 15 northbound and northern 215 beltways and use Las Vegas Boulevard if they are making their way to speedway.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
