A three-vehicle wreck in North Las Vegas led to injuries; DUI and speed possible factors (North Las Vegas, NV)

A multi-vehicle accident in North Las Vegas left multiple people in the hospital, including two children who are in critical condition.

The wreck happened just before 8 p.m Thursday night at the intersection of E Cheyenne Ave & N Pecos Rd in which three vehicles were involved. The early reports determined that a red Chevy Silverado was going southbound on Pecos at a high rate of speed.

At that point of time, a silver Nissan SUV was attempting to a turn left from Pecos road to travel westbound on Cheyenne Avenue. Just then, the red Chevy Silverado crashed into an SUV which sent both the vehicles to a silver Ford focus.

A male driver and a male passenger were riding in a red Chevy Silverado. Both the driver and the passenger received injuries and were taken to University Medical Center. A female driver, a one-year-old, and a four-year-old were inside the SUV.

All three were taken to University Medical Center. The one-year-old was listed in critical condition, but is now stable whereas the four-year-old is still listed in critical condition. The female driver incurred only minor injuries.

The silver Ford focus was occupied by three people, all of whom stayed on the scene and were not hospitalized. DUI and speed are believed to be involved in this traffic crash. The intersection of E Cheyenne Ave & N Pecos Rd is blocked in all directions at this time. North Las Vegas police asked the motorists to avoid the affected area.

An investigation is ongoing at this time.
