On Wednesday morning, a three-vehicle accident caused injuries on Highway 44 near Interstate 5.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident took place at about 8:00 a.m. on westbound Highway 44 between Interstate 5 and the Sundial Bridge Drive exit. Officials confirmed that the victims suffered minimal injuries as a result of the crash.
Authorities partially shut down westbound Highway 44 and also mentioned that motorists will face a major traffic backup on both directions of Interstate 5 and connecting onramps. All roads have long since reopened. As of now, the identities of the injured persons have not been revealed.
An investigation is underway.
