On Tuesday morning, two people were sent to hospital following a three-vehicle pile-up at a San Leandro intersection.
The incident took place at about 7:40 a.m. at the intersection of Hesperian Boulevard and Halcyon Drive wherein three cars were involved. Rescuers had to cut the vehicle to free one of the victims involved in the crash, from the debris using hydraulic tools.
One of the cars involved sheared off a fire hydrant. The current condition of the victims is unknown at this time. Officials have not provided any further information regarding the crash.
The authorities will continue to investigate the cause that led to the accident.
