On Sunday, multiple people received injuries following a rollover accident on Interstate 580.
Officers got the reports of the crash at around 5:47 p.m. south of the William Street exit. As per the initial information, a Care Flight air ambulance and four ground ambulances were at the scene. On arrival, emergency responders found eight people in the vehicle. The victims, including some children, suffered major, moderate to minor injuries. Medics transported all eight people to the hospital for treatment.
One victim who was in critical condition was airlifted to the trauma ward at Renown Medical Center in Reno through Care Flight. They were severely bleeding when paramedics arrived, while first responders were applying a tourniquet. Officials mentioned that the vehicle rolled several times into a field and no other vehicles were involved in the accident.
An investigation is continuing.
