A single-vehicle crash injured 2 people on Sweeney Road near Highway 246 (Lompoc, CA)

On Sunday afternoon, two people suffered injuries following a traffic accident on Sweeney Road.

As per the initial information, the single-vehicle crash took place at about 4:37 p.m. in the 2000 block of Sweeney Road near Highway 246. The preliminary investigation showed that a GMC pickup crashed down a 75-foot cliff for undetermined reasons.

On arrival, rescuers freed two people, a male, and a female, pinned inside the vehicle. The victims were then airlifted to Cottage Hospital through helicopter. Reports further revealed that one person had major injuries and the other sustained critical injuries. No other details are available.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
