A single-vehicle accident killed 21-year-old Cassidy Boutte in Gonzales (Gonzales, LA)

On Saturday night, 21-year-old Cassidy Boutte, a resident of Gonzales, lost her life in a single-vehicle accident on US Hwy 61, south of Interstate 10 in St. James Parish.

According to the reports, Cassidy Boutte was heading northbound on US Hwy 61 when she veered off the roadway and hit a tree for still unknown reasons. On arrival, officials declared Boutte dead. A toxicology sample was taken as part of an ongoing investigation, officers mentioned. The cause of the accident remains unknown at this time. No additional details are available as of this moment.

The authorities will continue to investigate the deadly collision.
