A single-car crash in Las Vegas led to a fatality (Las Vegas, NV)

One person was killed following a crash Sunday morning in Las Vegas.

As per the initial information, the authorities actively responded to the area at Sky Vista Drive at approximately 7:02 a.m. on reports of a car accident. The early reports showed that the driver of a Kia Forte was traveling at high rates of speed, going southbound on Sky Vista Drive.

As the driver approached the T-intersection at W. Charleston Boulevard, the driver reportedly failed to stop or slow down in time following which the front of the vehicle crashed into a raised landscaped median.

The vehicle then went airborne and continued southbound into a desert area. The vehicle then hit a rock, bringing it to a final stop. The driver was declared dead at the scene by the officials. No other information is available.

The crash remains under investigation.
