A single-car crash claimed the life of 54-year-old Frank Douglas in Sevier County (Sevier County, TN)

On Thursday night, 54-year-old Frank Douglas lost his life after a single-car crash on Katom Road in Sevier County.

According to the authorities, 25-year-old Brandon Brunelle was driving a vehicle and 54-year-old Frank Douglas was his passenger. The car swerved off the road for reasons yet to be known and struck a row of concrete blocks. The force of the crash caused the car to go airborne before it landed on a private property, officials mentioned.

Douglas succumbed to his injuries at the scene. He was reportedly not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident. Brunelle was wearing his seatbelt at that time and it is unknown if he was injured or not. Charges against Brunelle are pending, officials added.

The crash remains under active investigation.
