On Wednesday morning, a semi-truck accident resulted in a miles-long backup on I-5 in SeaTac.
As per the initial information, the single-vehicle crash took place on Interstate 5, just north of State Route 516 before 6 a.m. The preliminary investigation showed that a semi slammed into a guardrail and the truck was dragged from the scene. The traffic delays occurred in the northbound lanes of Interstate 5.
At around 6:20, authorities said that the backup was about 6 miles long. At this time, it is unknown if anyone suffered injuries as a result of the wreck. Responders had to block two right lanes for repairs and approximately 400 feet of guardrail was damaged due to the accident. No other details are available.
An investigation is ongoing.
