On early Thursday morning, a woman suffered injuries after a rollover crash in Benton County.
Officers actively responded to the crash scene at about 3:00 a.m. after getting reports of a single-vehicle accident. The preliminary investigation revealed that the woman’s truck rolled around 100 to 150 feet off State Route 221, close to milepost two. On arrival, responding officers found the woman’s truck in brush five feet high.
Crews extricated the woman from the wrecked truck and airlifted her to Kadlec in Richland via Life Flight with serious injuries. Authorities said that the woman’s co-workers were driving behind her at the time of the accident and likely saved her life. They added that it would have been difficult to find out the victim’s truck without the co-workers seeing the accident.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
