On Saturday, a 16-year-old girl suffered injuries following a rollover accident in Belfair.
As per the initial information, the single-vehicle crash took place on State Route 300 at around 4:15 p.m. The preliminary investigation showed that the Polaris RZR was westbound on State Route 300 when at milepost 1, the driver took a U-turn in a gravel pullout. As the vehicle came back on the roadway, it hit the edge of the pavement and flipped onto the passenger side.
The incident led to the closure of both lanes of SR-300. The driver described as a 21-year-old Gig Harbor man, and a 17-year-old male passenger remained uninjured. A third passenger, the 16-year-old girl from Lacey, was taken to St. Michaels Hospital in Bremerton with unspecified injuries.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
