On Wednesday afternoon, one person suffered major injuries following a rollover accident in Gonzales along an Ascension Parish roadway.
As per the initial information, the single-vehicle crash took place near Highway 44 and Don Lou Drive. The preliminary investigation revealed that the driver swerved off the road at a curve and struck a culvert, causing the vehicle to roll over.
The impact partially ejected the driver from the vehicle. The victim, who appeared to be a teenager, was transported to a hospital in critical condition. It is unknown if the vehicle was occupied by any passengers at that time.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
