On Tuesday morning, a rollover accident on the far Northwest Side caused serious injuries to three people and left hundreds of people without power.
The preliminary reports showed that at about 3 am, a vehicle was traveling eastbound on Shaenfield Road, close to Canter Horse when it hit a median, got out of control and flipped over into a field. On arrival, responding officers found three people, who were outside the vehicle, with serious injuries. The reports further revealed that at least one of the victims, if not all, was thrown from the vehicle.
No information is available on the current conditions of the victims, but officers said their injuries did not seem to be life-threatening. The reports also added that the car cut right through a power pole, resulting in the outages throughout the area. At one point of time, there were hundreds of outages, but all were restored by 5:30 a.m. No other details are available.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
