On Sunday, a car rolled over after rear-ending another vehicle on Interstate 280 in San Francisco, injuring 3 people while its occupants ran away from the scene, the California Highway Patrol said.
The incident took place at 5:05 p.m. on southbound 280 between San Jose Avenue and Ocean Avenue, near San Francisco City College. The car, which the authorities have not yet described, overturned after hitting another vehicle from behind.
Its occupants came out of the car and shortly afterward were seen by another vehicle to leave the scene, CHP Officer Mark Andrews stated. Two children and an adult received minor injuries in the car that was rear-ended.
Three lanes of southbound I-280 were shut down for about half an hour. On Sunday evening, authorities were trying to search for the driver of the overturned vehicle, Andrews added.
An investigation is ongoing at this time.
