On Wednesday evening, a man walking along Orange Avenue in the Teralta West neighborhood received serious injuries after he was struck by a pickup.
The preliminary reports showed that the 59-year-old victim was walking east on Orange Avenue just after 6 p.m. when he came to 42nd Street and safely left the curb to cross. Just then, a Dodge Ram driven by a 23-year-old man tuned left and hit the pedestrian in the middle of the road.
The victim had an open fracture to his left arm as a result of the collision. The driver stayed at the scene and was not taken into custody at the time of the accident. The identity of the injured pedestrian remains undisclosed at this time.
An investigation is ongoing.
