A pickup struck and injured a 14-year-old boy on Thorne Avenue (Fresno, CA)

A 14-year-old boy received injuries after being struck by a vehicle Thursday on Thorne Avenue.

As per the initial information, the auto-pedestrian collision took place at the intersection of Thorne Avenue and Ashlan Avenue. The preliminary reports showed that the teen was walking in the crosswalk when the pickup driver hit him. The involved driver immediately stooped at the accident scene and called for help.

The driver reported to officers that he did not see the victim crossing the street. The first responders rushed the boy to a local hospital with moderate injuries. Officers confirmed that drugs and alcohol were not involved in the incident. As of now, no charges are expected to be filed against the driver.

An investigation is ongoing.
