A tragic multi-vehicle accident occurred in Palmdale on Wednesday night, claiming the life of an individual. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the incident unfolded just after 9 p.m. on Palmdale Boulevard near 80th Street East.
An eastbound vehicle veered into oncoming traffic, colliding head-on with a westbound vehicle. The events leading up to this crash are not entirely clear at this time.
Regrettably, the passenger in the westbound vehicle was critically injured and rushed to a local hospital. They succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced dead. The identity of the victim has not been disclosed at this time.
The driver of the first vehicle, suspected of driving under the influence, now faces a charge of DUI causing injury, as alcohol is believed to have played a role in the fatal crash.
Authorities have refrained from disclosing the identities of those involved.
