On early Friday morning, injuries were reported after a multi-vehicle pile-up on San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge.
Officers were sent to the crash scene at about 4:50 a.m. on reports of a collision. On arrival, responding officers found that the wreck involved four vehicles, including a bus. Reports revealed that there was a huge backup at the toll plaza and a Sig Alert was announced by the officials. It was confirmed that the crash led to injuries; however, it is unknown how many people in total were injured.
The crash on westbound 80, close to Yerba Buena Island closed two lanes on the Bay Bridge, slowing down the traffic of San Francisco and blocking traffic through the MacArthur Maze beyond Ashby Avenue. All lanes were back open again by 7:25 a.m. but the backup and slow traffic was expended to continue through the morning commute.
An investigation is ongoing.
