Injuries were reported after a traffic collision on I-10 eastbound.
As per the initial information, the multi-vehicle accident took place a little after 6 p.m. on Interstate 10 near the University Avenue exit in Lafayette. It is unknown how many people suffered injuries as a result of the wreck. The incident led to the closure of the interstate in the eastbound direction as crews worked at the scene.
Traffic was rerouted of the interstate at the Ambassador Caffery exit. All lanes were later reopened on I-10 eastbound near Mile Marker 101, officials mentioned. The events that have led up to the accident remain unknown. No other details are immediately available.
