On Tuesday, injuries were reported after a multi-vehicle pile-up in the Sun Valley area that led to the closure of the northbound 170 Freeway.
The incident was reported at around 5:30 a.m. near Roscoe Boulevard. The number of people involved and the extent of their injuries remain unclear at this time. The northbound lanes of the freeway were shut down between Roscoe Boulevard and Sheldon Street following the crash. All freeway lanes were reportedly opened a little before 8 a.m.
CHP added that officers were investigating an accident later that took place on surface streets near the freeway at Branford Street and Arleta Avenue, which apparently involved a driver who was involved in the wreck on the freeway.
An investigation is ongoing.
