A crash involving multiple vehicles claimed life of one person on the eastbound Santa Monica (10) Freeway in Santa Monica late Wednesday, according to the CHP.
The incident took place at around 10 p.m. Wednesday near Centinela Avenue that prompted a Sig Alert on the freeway that lasted for more than five hours before the affected area reopened again for traffic on early Thursday, CHP told. All eastbound lanes just west of Centinela were opened again at about 3:25 a.m. It’s unclear what led the crash, but at least one person was pinned in a vehicle, an eyewitness told CHP. Authorities have not released the name and age of the victim as of now.
The crash is under review.
