On Sunday, one person was killed and three others suffered injuries after a multi-vehicle wreck in west Phoenix.
As per the initial information, officers quickly responded to Camelback Road and El Mirage Road shortly after 11 a.m. after getting reports of a three-vehicle wreck. On arrival, emergency crews rescued one person from the vehicle and took all three drivers to the hospital for treatment. One driver reportedly received life-threatening injuries.
A man, who was a passenger in one of the vehicle, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Authorities have not confirmed if speed and impairment have contributed as factors in the collision. Officials shut down Camelback Road from El Mirage Road to 107th Avenue for several hours.
An investigation into the fatal wreck is underway.
