A multi-vehicle accident injured 2 people on Highway 118 near Mesa Elementary School (Camarillo, CA)

On Saturday afternoon, two people suffered injuries following a multi-vehicle pile-up on Highway 118, east of Mesa Elementary School at around 8:40 p.m.

Authorities said that one of the drivers lost control of the vehicle and caused the incident. On arrival, firefighters had to rescue two people pinned inside a Ford Bronco. Medics took two victims to Ventura County Medical Center with minor to moderate injuries while three people refused to get medical aid on the scene. Officials shut down both directions of Highway 101 while a knocked down utility pole at the scene was being repaired.

The authorities continue to investigate the crash.
