On late Wednesday night, a baby less than 1 year old died after a multi-vehicle pile-up in Paramount while officers arrested two people on suspicion of driving under the influence.
The wreck involving four vehicles was reported at about 10 p.m. in the area of the Rosecrans Avenue and the 710 Freeway. The vehicles were heading eastbound on Rosecrans when they reportedly crashed into each other. A baby was declared dead at a hospital, and several other people suffered injuries. As of now, officials have not confirmed how many people were injured in the crash.
On Wednesday, the Fire Department had reported that there were six victims involved in the accident. Two people were detained on suspicion of driving under the influence, officers mentioned. Officials have not identified the two people who were arrested. Reports revealed on Wednesday night confirmed that at least one vehicle overturned following the wreck.
An investigation is ongoing at this time.
