On Monday morning, one person was killed after a motorcycle accident on the Loop 202 at State Route 143 in Phoenix.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the incident took place before 11 a.m. Bystanders informed the officers that the motorcycle may have been racing another car at the time of the collision.
Authorities reported that the 202 eastbound lanes at SR 143 were shut down following the crash, but the lanes opened again a little after 12:30 p.m. The officials will release the identity of the deceased after notifying the next of kin.
The cause of the crash remains under active investigation.
