On Friday afternoon, one person sustained major injuries following a motorcycle crash in Lubbock.
LPD officers were called to 34th Street and Chicago Avenue on reports of a collision that caused serious injuries. On arrival, authorities found a motorcycle at the scene. Authorities have not confirmed if any other vehicle was involved in the crash. One person was rushed to University Medical Center with serious injuries.
Westbound lanes at 34th Street were shut down and traffic was directed northbound onto Chicago Avenue just after 5:00 p.m., officials stated. However, eastbound lanes remained open. The identity of the injured victim remains unknown at this time.
An investigation is underway.
