A man lost his life in a single-vehicle crash on Katy Freeway feeder (Houston, TX)

A single-vehicle collision claimed life of one man after he crashed his work van along the Katy Freeway service road on early Tuesday.

The incident took place in the 18800 block of the I-10 service road, between Greenhouse and Baker-Cypress. Authorities said that the man was traveling along the service road when he lost control of his vehicle and went into a nearby wooded area. As per reports, the vehicle turned over, partially ejecting the driver from the vehicle. On arrival, rescuers declared the victim deceased.

Police are waiting for the results of a toxicology report to confirm if the driver was intoxicated at the time of the accident. Authorities believe that speed may have played a factor in the fatal crash. As per police, the victim has been identified and they are trying to contact his family.

An investigation is underway.
