A man died in an auto-pedestrian accident on Cedar Avenue (Fresno, CA)

On Thursday, a man in his 60s lost his life after being fatally hit by a vehicle in Cedar Avenue.

The auto-pedestrian collision happened at around 6:45 a.m. near the intersection with Hamilton Avenue. According to the officials, the pedestrian was in the roadway near Sequoia Middle School when a southbound driver hit him.

On arrival, emergency crews rushed the victim to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. It is unknown at this time if the pedestrian was using a crosswalk or not at the time of the crash. The authorities will reveal the identity of the deceased after notifying the next of kin.

An investigation is underway.
