A fatal traffic collision claimed life of a person and caused injuries to two others along I-580 in Emeryville.
The incident also led to the closure of Interstate 580 off-ramps in the Emeryville area for several hours overnight. The accident took place at Emery Street and West MacArthur Boulevard in Emeryville at about 10:05 p.m.
According to the reports, two vehicles were involved in the wreck while several first responders are working to free the occupants inside. Both vehicles were significantly damaged following the crash. All off-ramps are now open again for traffic, CHP stated. The cause of the accident remains unknown at this time.
The California Highway Patrol is looking into this crash.
