A hit-and-run crash left 2 people with injuries on State Route 16 and Tremont Street (Port Orchard, WA)

On Tuesday afternoon, a hit-and-run accident injured two people on State Route 16 and Tremont Street.

Reports revealed that two people suffered major injuries after a pickup truck struck their black Chevrolet Camaro. The incident took place as they drove eastbound, just west of the Tremont exit.

The Camaro went off the road to the right and hit a tree as a result of the crash. Bystanders last saw the truck driving east moments before 2:00 p.m. Officers mentioned that the involved pickup truck was a blue late 90’s Ford Ranger.

On arrival, medics transported the Camaro driver and passenger to St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Tacoma for treatment of their injuries. The traffic in the area was stalled on eastbound SR 16 for some time. The incident caused a huge backup nearing the commute time.

An investigation is underway.
