A woman died of injuries she suffered following an auto-pedestrian accident Saturday in west Sparks.
The fatal hit-and-run crash took place at around 11:27 p.m. at G Street and El Rancho Drive. According to the reports, an older model gray four-door vehicle was traveling west on G Street through the intersection of El Rancho Drive on a green light when the vehicle struck two pedestrians in the crosswalk.
Officers described them only as a man and a woman. The victims were reportedly on the west side of the intersection crossing from the south to the north. The driver continued going west on G Street. On arrival, responders found the female on the ground with life-threatening injuries. The male was up and walking and had non-fatal injuries.
Both were rushed to the hospital for treatment where the woman later died of her injuries. According to the officials, the vehicle should have front-end damage and it seems to have distinct blue colored headlights. No other details are made available.
The incident remains under active review.
