A hit-and-run crash killed a bicyclist on West 12th Street (Yuma, AZ)

One bicyclist died and two suffered injuries following a hit-and-run crash on West 12th Street at about 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

According to authorities, a vehicle hit two 16-year-olds and an 18-year-old while they were riding on their bikes in the 1900 block of west 12th Street. Officials said that the suspect vehicle was traveling the same way as the teenagers and the vehicle fled the scene after the accident.

On arrival, responders declared the 18-year-old deceased on the spot while paramedics airlifted one of the 16-year-old to a hospital through helicopter with critical injuries. Emergency crews examined the other 16-year-old victim and released the person with no injuries.

An investigation is ongoing.
